Temperature Controlled Storage


Two of California Self Storage Centers’ facilities, Gold River (Gold River/Rancho Cordova) and Blue Oaks Self Storage (Roseville), offer spaces that are temperature controlled for your comfort and to protect your personal or business items from widely varying temperatures. The temperature in these spaces is kept between 68-78 degrees year-round. Gold River and Blue Oaks Self Storage do not control for varying amounts of humidity nor do we protect against mold.  We do not have redundant backup systems, however, we are fully insulated to help maintain temperatures during blackouts.  We also are contracted with an HVAC company for 24-hour on-call service.

Antiques and furniture are best stored in temperature controlled spaces to protect them from temperature extremes. By maintaining temperature within 68-78 degrees, year round, it helps to protect valuables from degradation. The air system is centrally controlled in these spaces. The spaces remain warm during the winter and cool in summer. This type of storage protects such items as: important papers, computer equipment, electronics, photographs, and books that can only retain their original quality if protected properly. Wood and leather furniture is especially susceptible to damage from temperature extremes. Storing this type of furniture in temperature control is the best idea. If you live in a geographical area which has extreme weather conditions, such as Sacramento’s hot summers, you might want to consider temperature controlled storage. This type of storage is also especially suited to the needs of particular types of business storage, including cosmetics, computer storage, and pharmaceutical supplies.
