Competitive grant funding

All grant requests for products made from recycled material must contain documentation of a minimum of 25% recycled content.

Certification and proof of tax-exempt status must be included in the application.
This information is included in the “who is eligible to apply” section of the grant application packet.
This information will be covered in more detail during the grant meeting.

If an organization is applying for funds to improve, expand or set up yard waste services, the applicant should make every attempt to purchase products made from recycled content, but this is not a requirement.

If a grant writer is assisting your agency with your grant application they cannot be your only representation at the grant meeting. There must also be a person from the agency who would be receiving the grant. This should also be the person who is listed as the grant contact on the application and would be responsible for the grant from the initial award, implementation, and final reporting.
