CARAS de Esperanza, a youth-centered prevention program, is funded by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and operates in multiple Tucson middle schools. With a focus on educating and preventing the misuse of prescription medications, opioids, and psychostimulants, the program aims to alter the prevailing culture of substance abuse among Latino youth. Utilizing frameworks such as the Razalogia Community Outreach Framework and trauma-informed care, the program empowers youth to effect change within themselves and their communities, ultimately striving for a healthier future.
