Watercraft Inspection

The Tri District Soil & Water Conservation Districts, based in Rupert, Idaho, have undertaken the management and operation of the Cotterell Invasive Species Watercraft Inspection Station located on I-84 Northbound. At this station, diligent workers ensure that all watercraft passing through are thoroughly inspected to ensure they are clean, drained, dry, and free of invasive species such as mussels, snails, clams, and weeds. The Cotterell Boat Inspection Station has been designated to assess the feasibility of operating 24 hours a day, requiring increased manpower and collaboration with the Idaho State Patrol and the Idaho Transportation Department. The supervisors at West Cassia Soil & Water Conservation District prioritize the protection of Idaho's waterways and are dedicated to finding innovative ways to conserve natural resources.
