The Local Work Group, or LWG, is a collaborative effort led by the local Soil Conservation Districts and the Natural Resource Conservation Services (NRCS), serving as a platform for landowners and agency representatives to identify and prioritize funding for projects addressing critical concerns within the community. These concerns encompass a range of issues such as field sediment, nutrient, and pathogen loss; source water depletion; soil quality limitations; wind and water erosion; concentrated erosion; weather resilience; and degraded plant condition. Through the LWG, stakeholders work together to assess the significance of these concerns and allocate resources accordingly to implement impactful projects.
